Step-by-Step Assembly

1. Build Seat Frame

  • Attach:
    • Front rail
    • Rear rail
    • Two side rails
  • Use wood glue and screws.
  • Ensure frame is perfectly square.

2. Install Seat Supports

  • Space slats evenly inside frame.
  • Attach using 50mm screws.

3. Attach Legs

  • Secure front legs flush with frame corners.
  • Rear legs extend upward for backrest support.
  • Check both rear legs align evenly.

4. Install Back Rails

  • Attach lower rail first.
  • Install middle rail.
  • Finish with upper rail.

Spacing:

  • 120–150mm between rails.

5. Install Seat Boards

  • Leave:
    • 3–5mm expansion gaps
  • Secure from top into seat supports.

6. Sand & Finish

Recommended sanding:

  • 80 grit
  • 120 grit
  • 220 grit finish

Apply:

  • Stain
  • Polyurethane
  • Danish oil
  • Wax finish

Chair Strength Tips

  • Add corner blocks under seat frame.
  • Use mortise-and-tenon joints for premium strength.
  • Clamp glued joints for at least 8 hours.
